What is Moldavite?

Moldavite is a natural green tektite created about 15 million years ago during the Ries meteorite impact. The impact is part of its history, but Moldavite is not a meteorite. It formed from terrestrial material transformed by the heat and force of the impact.

Choosing a piece

Start with the piece that calls to you. Some people are drawn to color or surface texture. Others begin with size, weight, price, or a particular type such as Besednice or Angel Chime. Size, condition, surface detail, transparency, verified locality, and availability can all affect price.

Questions about Moldavite

What is the Moldavite Flush?

The Moldavite Flush is the name often given to warmth, tingling, lightheadedness, or an emotional shift that some people experience while holding or wearing Moldavite. Many people feel nothing unusual. The experience is personal and is not a test of whether Moldavite is genuine.

How do I know the Moldavite is genuine?

Moldavite Life sources Moldavite directly from the Czech Republic. Levi Reynolds has worked hands-on with genuine Moldavite for more than a decade and examines the material he offers. Every Moldavite product includes a signed Moldavite Life Certificate of Authenticity. The certificate is Moldavite Life’s written assurance, not an independent laboratory report.

Why do natural pieces look so different?

Natural Moldavite varies in color, transparency, shape, surface texture, and size. Some pieces are smoother while others are deeply sculpted. Each individual listing shows the exact piece and its measurements when applicable.
