Volcanoes and lightning strikes form beautiful naturally formed glass. Fulgurites and obsidian can be found here in our collection of natural glasses from around the world.
Sometimes called pseudo-tektites, minerals like Colombianite and Agni Manitite are obsidian formed from ancient volcanic eruptions. They are called pseudo-tektites because the look like tektites, but rather than having been formed by a meteorite impact like tektites are, they were formed by volcanoes.
Fulgurites are natural glass created by lightning striking the ground in areas where there is sand, such as the desert or beach. Many of our fulgurites come from the desert of Morocco, but we continue to expand the selection with fulgurites from the US and beyond.
