Australian tektites (Australites) are an unusual variety of tektite from Southern Australia. They are estimated to be approximately 790,000 years old. They are dark, mostly black, and often found in an unusual splash forms of rounded or button shapes. The flanged splash form tektites are often thin on the edge and look like UFOs. The "Button" tektites are highly prized for their shape and are extremely rare. Each Australite for sale includes a Meteorite Identification Card.
