About Irgizite Tektites

Irgizite is a rare black tektite usually identified by its strange twisted ribbons and glossy ropes of black glass shapes. Irgizite tektites were created during an asteroid impact which occurred approximately 900,000 years ago. They are found in Kazahkstan's Zhamanshin meteor crater located in a remote south east area of Kazahstan near the village of Irgiz. Most of these unusual tektites are very small compared to other kinds of tektites like Libyan Desert Glass.

This bead is small and is NOT intended for children. Macro photography is used in natural sunlight to show detail. The item may appear larger than actual size. Please see size listed for the dimensions. 1" = 25.4 millimeters.
