Metaphysical Properties

Labradorite and Moldavite are often paired in crystal practices centered on change and self-discovery. Labradorite is traditionally associated with intuition and protection, while Moldavite is associated with transformation and spiritual growth. Some people choose the pairing for meditation or personal reflection.

Labradorite is often associated with intuition, expanded awareness, and exploring unfamiliar possibilities. Its shifting colors have also made it a symbol of seeing beyond first impressions. Some people work with Labradorite during meditation or other spiritual practices.

Moldavite is often called the Stone of Transformation. In modern crystal traditions, it is associated with clearing, spiritual growth, meditation, and expanded awareness. These associations are spiritual and subjective rather than scientifically established effects; experiences vary from person to person.

About Labradorite

Labradorite is a feldspar mineral known for flashes of color that appear as the stone moves in the light. This optical effect, called labradorescence, results from light interacting with microscopic layers inside the stone. Against a typically gray background, flashes may appear blue, green, gold, or other colors. Their visibility changes with the lighting and viewing angle, making movement part of the stone’s visual character.

      About Moldavite: Science & History

Moldavite is a very rare green Tektite that was created as a result of a meteor that fell to Earth about 15 million years ago. While it is commonly referred to as a crystal, gemstone, or meteorite, it is actually none of these. Moldavite is a naturally occurring form of impact glass known as a Tektite.

Moldavite was formed approximately 15 million years ago during the meteorite impact that created the Ries crater region of present-day Germany. It is part earthly (made from the Earth's crust) and part extraterrestrial (meteorite-based).

The intense heat generated upon impact instantly vaporized surrounding materials. This created a hot molten green silica-rich material that was ejected into the atmosphere and later cooled into natural glass across parts of what is now the Czech Republic. The Czech Republic is the only place in the world where genuine Moldavite is found.

Its beautiful green color, extraterrestrial origins, rarity, and the extraordinary experiences reported by many people who work with it have made Moldavite one of the most sought-after tektites in the world.
